Beers, a 6-4 center, comes to Oklahoma after two illustrious seasons at Oregon State and arrives in Norman as a rising junior with two years of remaining eligibility. She was tabbed as the top player in the transfer portal by The Athletic and the No. 2 transfer in the nation by ESPN after averaging 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game last year for the Beavers.
“We’re thrilled to add Raegan to our Oklahoma basketball family,” Baranczyk said. “She’s an incredible talent on the court and will fit in perfectly with our program on and off the floor. Raegan will add another dynamic to our team, and I know that Sooner Nation will love her!”
A product of Littleton, Colo., Beers was a third-team AP All-American selection in 2024 and earned All-America honorable mentions from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and AP in 2023. She garnered All-Pac-12 honors as a freshman and sophomore, claiming the league’s Freshman and Sixth Player of the Year awards in 2023. Also, her 32 double-doubles over the last two seasons ranked 12th nationally.
As a sophomore last season, Beers led Oregon State to an Elite Eight appearance, a top-10 national ranking and a 27-8 overall record. Posting 16 double-doubles, she averaged 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game and led the nation in field goal percentage (66.4%). Beers was also a Lisa Leslie Award finalist, given annually to the nation’s best center, and was named to the Naismith Trophy Player of the Year Midseason Team.
A Pac-12 All-Defense honoree, she anchored a Beaver defense that ranked inside the top 10 nationally in field goal percentage defense and defensive rebounding. She posted an 18-point, 13-rebound double-double to knock off No. 9 Notre Dame in the Sweet 16, and her 20-point, 20-rebound outburst vs. Arizona made her one of 10 Power Six players to post a 20-20 game last year.
The Pac-12 Freshman and Sixth Player of the Year in 2022-23, Beers closed her opening campaign by averaging 13.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. She was an All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Freshman selection by the league’s coaches, as well as a WBCA All-America honoree. A four-time Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, Beers led the nation’s freshmen in double-doubles (16).
Prior to her arrival at Oregon State, Beers was a 2022 McDonald’s All-American, and OU’s 2024-25 roster now boasts three McDonald’s All-Americans (Payton Verhulst and Sahara Williams). Additionally, she was a Jordan Brand Classic All-American, Naismith All-America second-team selection and tabbed as ESPN’s No. 10 recruit in the country.
The daughter of Kari and Ike Beers, she has three siblings, Rocky and Rowdy, who each played football at Florida International, and a sister, Rylie.
Beers joins an OU roster coming off back-to-back Big 12 championships under national Coach of the Year finalist Jennie Baranczyk. Beers provides a boost to a team that returns 98% of its scoring, 97% of its rebounding and 96% of its assists, as well as Big 12 Player of the Year Skylar Vann and the league’s Newcomer of the Year, Payton Verhulst. The Sooners, who were ranked in the top 20 in ESPN’s “Way Too Early” top-25 poll before the addition of Beers, will enter the Southeastern Conference on July 1, 2024.
Season tickets for OU’s first season in the SEC are on sale now, starting at $99.
