Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackles Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick were arrested in Kansas on Thursday for misdemeanor marijuana possession charges. Possession of marijuana is illegal in Kansas.
According to a release from the NFL and reports from the Johnson County Sheriff, both were arrested just before midnight on Thursday, May 16. Morris, 23, and Godrick, 23, were released from the Johnson County Detention Center around 4 p.m. on Friday after posting a $2,500 bond.
Morris was a 2023 NFL Draft pick of the Chiefs. In Kansas City’s Super Bowl LVIII win, Morris played five snaps on special teams.
Godrick is a native of Nigeria and was an International Pathway player. He is entering his second NFL season after spending his rookie year with the Chiefs’ practice squad.
