Indian-American Techie Losses Job to Indian Workers

The video commences with the engineer introducing himself and recounting the unfortunate situation of his entire team being laid off. During his exit interview, he received a startling revelation. The company disclosed its preference for hiring workers from India, citing lower labour costs. The engineer, taken aback, pointed out that he himself was born in India, and his family had relocated to the US for employment opportunities. He even expressed his willingness to move to India if it was desired by his employer.
“They said, ‘No, no, no, you don’t get it. We are getting rid of you. We are moving the job to India, where it will be done cheaper,’” the man narrated.
He further added, “And in that moment, I turned into every one of your fathers. I was like damn Indians are taking our jobs.”
The video amassed more than 3 million views and numerous comments with one user saying, “It’s not that you’re Indian it’s that you are now 90% less expensive.” Another user added, “Gotta work on the Indian accent brother.” A third said, “Did he get too Americanized? Or, was it time to bring in a fresh batch of people they could pay less?.”
