Tucker Carlson has claimed children in America are raised to believe Australia is a paradise – as the former Fox News host reveals his deepening fears about Joe Biden’s health.
The political commentator, who is on a two-week tour Down Under, said that US citizens are ‘born with this weird love of Australia’.
‘I know this is all kind of pathetic to the ears of an Australian, but I can’t overstate the degree to which every American child is told that Australia is Eden from birth,’ Carlson told 2GB’s Ben Fordham.
He added: ‘It’s by far the most popular country in the United States and I’m in my fifties and I’ve never seen it and I just jumped at the opportunity to come see it.’
Carlson, who is attending the Australian Freedom Conference on the invitation of mining billionaire Clive Palmer, also shared grave warnings about the ‘chaotic’ state of American politics.

During the interview, he also accused President Joe Biden of being ‘senile’ and ‘deep in dementia’, amid a slew of troubling videos in which he appears to freeze or stumble over his words.
‘I think it’s very obvious to everyone outside of the United States,’ Carlson said.
‘It’s rarely mentioned inside the United States, which is a really almost hallucinogenic experience to see something so obvious on television that no one will acknowledge.
‘But I do think everyone in Australia knows it because we’ve seen all the videos here of Joe Biden looking lost and stumbling over his words.’
Carlson said he had known Biden for many years and liked and respected him.
‘But the man I knew no longer exists, he’s a completely different person, completely different and he, he’s not there anymore,’ he said.
He added: ‘There may be many people in Australia who approve of Joe Biden’s policies, but I don’t think there’s any honest person watching this from 8,000 miles away who can say that guy is in his right mind.

‘He’s not, he’s senile, he’s not making the decisions of a commander-in-chief, those are being made by his staff and so it’s not democracy.’
Carlson lamented the ‘shocking’ state of U.S. politics, warning its foreign policy risked World War Three.
‘We’re involved directly in two wars [Gaza and Ukraine], one of which could very easily become a nuclear war,’ he said.
‘And so there’s never been a more perilous moment in the United States, including during the Civil War 150 years ago.
‘We are very close to a nuclear exchange with Russia.’

The Australian Freedom Conferences with Tucker Carlson and Clive Palmer will visit Cairns, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne from June 21 to July 1, with tickets available through Ticketek.
In April, Carlson signalled that he would be discussing Australia’s approach to the Covid-19 pandemic and the punitive lockdowns imposed by state governments.
‘I’ve admired Australia all my life and watched carefully from across the world as its government became authoritarian during the Covid insanity,’ he said.
‘I could hardly believe it. I still can’t. I know many Australians feel the same way, and I’m excited to meet them.’
