The Vienna Vikings of the European League of Football have signed All-Star defensive back Ken Hike Jr.
The 6’1″, 180-pound cornerback was recently released by Switzerland’s Helvetic Mercenaries. In four games with the team he recorded 14 tackles (9 solo, 5 assists), two interceptions for 44 yards, 10 pass breakups, and one forced fumble. Last season with the Helvetic Guards he recorded 52 tackles (34 solo, 18 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, one interception for eight pass breakups, two blocked kicks, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and one fumble recovery for a touchdown in 12 games,
He joined the Guards after spending the 2022 season with the Dresden Monarchs of the German Football League where he recorded 50 tackles, had one interception, 15 passes defended, and two blocked kicks, while also serving as the team’s kick returner. Hike earned GFL All-Star honors following the stellar campaign.
Prior to coming to Germany, the 28-year old played professionally in the The Spring League for the Conquerors in 2021. Before that he was a standout at Tuskegee University (NCAA DII). As a junior in 2018 he finished with 23 tackles and 2.5 TFL, seven passes defended, and two interceptions.
