NFL Network’s Emmy Award-winning “Good Morning Football” relaunches on Monday, July 29. The daily show now airs on NFL Network Monday-Friday from 8-10 a.m. ET and is broadcast from NFL Network’s studios in Los Angeles, relocating from New York City where it had been based since its debut in 2016.
Current hosts of “Good Morning Football” Jamie Erdahl, Peter Schrager and Kyle Brandt will be joined each day by former NFL defensive end Akbar Gbajabiamila and news reporter Sherree Burruss.
“Not only are we bringing back a show that so many fans have woken up to and loved for years, we are giving it a state-of-the-art new home with even more resources and space for our talent to showcase their signature segments and fun takes on the game of football,” said Angela Ellis, NFL Media vice president of original content and entertainment, and the executive overseeing the “Good Morning Football” brand.
Schrager and Brandt are two of the original members of “Good Morning Football” and have been with the show since its debut on August 1, 2016, while Erdahl has hosted the show since July 25, 2022. With Erdahl based in Los Angeles, and Schrager and Brandt hosting from both Los Angeles and New York, “Good Morning Football” has the game covered from coast to coast, and everywhere in between.
Former NFL player Gbajabiamila returns to NFL Network, where he spent time as an in-studio analyst from 2012 until 2019. The Los Angeles native joins “Good Morning Football” after three years as co-host of CBS’ daytime show “The Talk.” Additionally, Gbajabiamila continues to host NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior,” a position he has held since 2013.
“We are thrilled to welcome Akbar back to NFL Network, with his unique experience on and off the field and spanning both sports and entertainment,” said Ellis.
Burruss will relocate to Los Angeles from Washington, D.C., and will provide news updates as well as contribute to various segments on “Good Morning Football.” A veteran on-air reporter and host, Burruss joined NFL Network in February 2023.
In addition to the daily edition of “Good Morning Football” airing on NFL Network, a new two-hour series titled “GMFB: Overtime” will stream for free on The Roku Channel Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to noon ET. Also hosted by Erdahl, Schrager, Brandt and Gbajabiamila, with Burruss on news, “GMFB: Overtime” — the first streaming and nationally syndicated sports TV talk show — will cover game topics, as well as the entertainment and lifestyle surrounding the NFL. “GMFB: Overtime” premieres on The Roku Channel on Monday, July 29 and will air in syndication across various local stations on Monday, Sept. 2. We look forward to working with both Sony Pictures Television and the NFL to bring millions of fans free access to the latest in the NFL five days a week.”
