SHERREE Burruss has described her high-profile move to Good Morning Football as a “pinch-me moment.”
The sports broadcaster has joined the NFL Network signature show as a news reporter following its cross-country move to Los Angeles.
Burruss is one of two new faces on GMFB alongside former NFL defensive end Akbar Gbajabiamila.
“When you think NFL Network, you think Good Morning Football,” she told USA Today.
“So, to be able to join this iconic show is one of those ‘pinch-me moments’ and a professional highlight for me.”
The move marks the latest step in Burruss’s rapidly rising sports media career.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate began her career at KMIZ-TV in Columbia, Missouri, where she focused on the Missouri Tigers.
She then moved to WGCL-TV in Atlanta, where she covered the final season of the Braves at Turner Field and the Hawks’ 2016 playoff run.
Burruss then joined WRC-TV (NBC News 4) in Washington DC in 2016, where she worked as a sports reporter and anchor.
In 2020, she went national by landing a role as an anchor and reporter at CBS Sports HQ, CBS’s 24-hour streaming sports news network.
“I had three wonderful years in DC,” Burruss told the Washington Post.
“You can’t really complain when you have two championship parades and the Mystics winning, but growing up, in my heart of hearts, I’d always wanted to work at a national network.
“I’ll be doing some reporting and some hosting. It’s just kind of the culmination of everything that I got to work on at News 4, on a bigger stage.
“They did a very good job of preparing over there for what is next.”
Burruss spent the majority of her time covering college football and college basketball for CBS Sports.
She also spent two seasons as a sideline reporter for the NFL on CBS.
Good Morning Football’s relaunch and return on July 29 was confirmed by NFL Network to coincide with training camp.
The morning show went off air in March ahead of a major shake-up and move to Los Angeles.
Jamie Erdahl made the cross-country switch from New York to continue fronting the show.
Her former partners Kyle Brandt and Peter Schrager will join her, but they will split their time between New York and Los Angeles.
Sherree Burruss and Akbar Gbajabiamila were confirmed as new additions to the revamped show.
In February 2023, Burruss made the move to NFL Media by joining NFL Network as an on-air reporter.
And she has impressed her bosses enough at NFL Media by landing her move to GMFB.
Burruss is expected to make the move to Los Angeles with her husband and young daughter.
“Love you always and forever DC!,” she posted on social media.
“I’m so thankful for my time to bring you reports from Commanders and Ravens.
“I made incredible friends & have great memories! I’m very excited for this new chapter to continue bringing news from around the NFL!
“Can’t wait for @GMFB! “
