Xavi Mas (pictured above), former global head of sales at PGS Entertainment, and Ypsilon Films co-founder Roberto Mitrani (pictured left) have teamed up to launch a new kids & family production/distribution outfit called Liquid Rock Entertainment, backed by equity investment firm Multitrade Group.
Based in Barcelona and Miami, the company will focus on investment, distribution and co-production, and it’s looking for kids & family brands with global appeal. Mas and Mitrani are planning to bring their first projects to market in the coming months at Cartoon Forum and MIPCOM.
Before starting Liquid Rock, Mas worked at PGS for more than nine years, distributing a catalogue of kids & family projects including Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks and Gus the Itsy Bitsy Knight.
And for his part, Mitrani co-founded Barcelona-based Ypsilon Films with Multitrade Group 15 years ago in order to distribute kids shows such as Hey Duggee and Ghostforce; he will continue to oversee these operations.
