Since 2009, the NFL and the American Cancer Society have teamed up to fight cancer and save lives.
“Crucial Catch” is an initiative to “help more people catch cancer early” and “address the unequal burden of cancer in under-resourced communities,” per Cancer.org’s page on the campaign with the NFL.
“Crucial Catch promotes prevention and early detection of cancer, which can impact anyone at any age, and increases access to lifesaving cancer screenings. Since 2009, Crucial Catch has raised more than $27 million and impacted over one million people in communities that need it most.”
The NFL has also donated more than $30 million to the American Cancer Society through sales of “Crucial Catch” branded merchandise, NFL auction items and general fundraising. Those funds have impacted more than 1.8 million people and have funded more than 762,000 cancer screenings in communities of need.
