Zheng Qinwen has defended her policy of not hugging her opponents after the match. The Chinese star reiterated her desire not to make friends on tour and instead focus on winning. After her first-round win at the Australian Open, Qinwen answered a question about her post-match handshake with her opponent.
“Usually I don’t often give a hug to my opponent as well because I feel that is not necessary for me because I come here just to play a match and if I lose, I will give you just basic respect and that’s it. That’s why you will not see me lose one match and with a happy face to the opponent. If you saw that on me that is very strange which means I don’t care about that match in that day,” Qinwen said.

Emma Navarro opens up about the rise of American tennis
Emma Navarro is one of the five American women in the top 20 of the WTA rankings. The star recently discussed the rise of American tennis in recent years.
Navarro was not part of the American United Cup-winning team but followed the matches. The 30-year-old spoke highly about her colleagues and hailed this as a great time for American tennis.
“It’s exciting. I watched them win the United Cup a couple of weeks ago. It’s really cool not only to see the other American players’ success but also just cheer it on and I got pretty into watching the United Cup and it was exciting. It’s great to see them doing well,” Navarro said.

Aryna Sabalenka talked about her plans to eventually retire and start a family. The Belarussian star is the defending champion at the Australian Open. She said:
“I hope I’ll have family; I’ll have kids – I want to have kids. I don’t want to have my first kid at 35, you know. The way I see it, I really want to have a kid and then comeback and I want my kid to see how hard you should work in life to get things. So, yeah, I don’t know.”
