A former nationally ranked tennis player convinced the Ninth Circuit to revive her claims that the US Tennis Association failed to stop her coach’s sexual abuse.
The lower court wrongly found that a dismissal of Adrienne Jensen’s suit against USTA in Kansas precluded her from trying again in Arizona, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said Thursday.
Jensen alleges that when she was a rising teen tennis star, the USTA failed to protect her from sexual abuse by her coach, Rex Haultain. Haultain pleaded guilty to soliciting child pornography in a separate federal criminal case.
