A toast was in order, and Guiducci was eloquent. Raising his glass to Tory, he declared, “You are successful beyond every measure of the fashion industry. You’re up there in the pantheon of American fashion with Ralph and Vera, both of whom you once worked for. You’ve built a significant foundation that empowers women entrepreneurs, but,” he said, “there’s pretty much no one else I’d rather see on the dance floor than Tory Burch!”
While the evening was in her honor, Burch graciously turned the spotlight to her guests during her remarks. “When Anna called to say thank you for this, I thought, ‘It’s an incredible group that only Vogue could bring together—entrepreneurs and philanthropists from every country you could imagine,’ so I was thrilled to host them.”
With her highly anticipated runway show at the Museum of Modern Art just days away, hosting a soirée at her home was a bold move, but if Burch felt the pressure, she didn’t show it. Guiducci noted the significance of the MoMA venue, remarking, “I don’t think they’ve ever had a runway show inside the museum before.”
With a wry glance at Guiducci, Burch joked, “This might be their first…and last. We’ll see!”
Guests, resplendent in Tory Burch creations, turned the evening into an impromptu runway show of their own. Sculptural Patos mismatched heeled shoes, kicky wire-hem hoop skirts, exquisitely draped knot dresses, and sequined embellished slip skirts made the rounds as guests admired each other’s fabulous Tory Burch looks.
The conversation was just as lively. Burch and Jamie Soros swapped photos and baby names for Jamie’s soon-to-arrive addition, while Burch and Fumi Lee, founder of the Fumi Jean denim brand, bonded over a shared love of Japanese denim. Meanwhile, a chat with Gloria Zhu sparked lighthearted talk of Tory starting a personal TikTok account someday, which would undoubtedly be an overnight sensation given Tory’s effortless charm.
Eventually, coats were gathered and farewells exchanged as Tory and Pierre-Yves lingered in the dining room over a few final bites from the evening’s exquisite spread—served, naturally, atop Tory Burch Jolie Fleur tableware. Guests called out their well wishes for the show before stepping into the hush of the snow-covered city, the perfect close to a quintessential New York evening in celebration of Tory Burch.
