Agents in countries including Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay and Colombia have been sourced to open new markets for Tui, including those for its holidays to northern Europe and its river cruise programme in Germany.
Tui’s Spain and Portugal team have also launched a digital platform using a localised website, which boasts a dynamic packaging option.
“Tui is a global business with a global footprint – but today we primarily sell to European customers. Now, we expand our offering to customers in Latin America as a sales region as well”, said Sebastian Ebel, Tui Group chief executive.
“Latin America represents a significant growth opportunity for us, and through our digital platforms, we are poised to meet the region’s rising demand, and scale quickly. Tui is ready to make a major impact in Latin America.”
Andrea Pfeiffer, Tui Spain & Portugal sales and marketing director, added: “There are clear synergies between our operations in Spain and Portugal and the Latam markets.
“We speak the language, have experience in destinations around the world, and a high-quality product portfolio, as well as a European base, making Tui the perfect partner for Latam travel agents and their customers.”
The announcement follows that of the opening of Tui’s first hotels in China and Malaysia under the Tui Blue brand, which is seen as a key part of the group’s global expansion plans.
