US Election Night on Sky News will be led by chief presenter Mark Austin and lead world news presenter Yalda Hakim, joined in our Washington studios by US correspondent Mark Stone to bring audiences results throughout the 5th and into the 6th of November.
Austin, Hakim, and Stone are joined through the election build-up and aftermath by chief presenter Anna Botting and presenter Gillian Joseph as it becomes clearer who will lead America: Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump.
Alongside Stone is the rest of Sky’s comprehensive US reporting team with correspondents James Matthews and Martha Kelner who will be in the candidates’ home states of Florida and California as the results come in, having reported from the key swing states that will decide the outcome of the race.
Sky News will have access to the most comprehensive exit poll and vote-counting results from every state, county and demographic across America through our sister network NBC. In an international broadcast exclusive, Sky News will have the fastest and most accurate race projections that will originate from the renowned NBC News Decision Desk.
The News Agents podcast host and former Sky News political correspondent, Lewis Goodall, will help viewers make sense of it all, using advanced data screens to deliver the latest numbers and most comprehensive data analysis on the race to the White House.
David Rhodes, Executive Chairman, Sky News: “Consistently this year audiences have demanded the full story of the US election. We’ll offer them the best team of presenters and correspondents with the best data available from the best studio in Washington—on the night and afterwards.”
Sky’s Washington studio for US Election Night is that normally used by Sunday’s “Meet the Press” on NBC—America’s longest-running television programme.
Sky News will continue to cover every twist and turn in the build-up to results night. In July, Yalda Hakim was on the ground at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee and this month, Mark Austin has reported live from the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
US correspondents James Matthews, Martha Kelner and Mark Stone, have between them over a decade’s worth of experience reporting on America, covering every major story from the White House lawn to local key state battlegrounds across the country.
The month of July was Sky News’ strongest on TV since October 2022, and the strongest month of the year on digital as audiences turned to Sky for coverage of international events.
As the world looked to understand more about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on July 13th, 2.8 million people tuned into Sky News on TV and over 6.3 million engaged with digital products.
The international reach of Sky News remained strong throughout the month with 4.3 million on platform digital users from the US in July, up 250% on the monthly average, and early August figures indicate it’s set to be another strong month.
