American Airlines will add five European routes to its schedule next summer, including the resumption of flights from Edinburgh for the first time since 2019.
In addition to a daily summer service between Edinburgh and Philadelphia which commences on 23 May, the airline will introduce flights between Athens and Charlotte (daily, from 5 June), Madrid and Chicago (daily, from 30 March), Rome and Miami (daily, from 5 July), and Milan and Philadelphia (daily, from 23 May).
Flights from Edinburgh, Milan and Madrid will be operated by Boeing 787-8 aircraft and services from Athens and Rome will be flown by Boeing 777-200s.
The airline is also reintroducing summer services to/from Copenhagen, Naples and Nice after their launch in 2024, and extending a number of winter seasonal services into summer 2025, including flights between Paris and Miami.
In total, American will operate more than 70 flights per day to/from more than 20 transatlantic destinations in summer 2025.
