American Express is opening a Centurion Lounge at Washington Reagan National Airport on July 17.
It will be the network’s 29th Centurion Lounge.
The 12,000-square-foot lounge will feature a menu created by three chefs: Michelle Bernstein, Ravi Kapur and Michael Solomonov. This is the first time a Centurion Lounge has featured dishes from three chefs, American Express said. Dishes will be inspired by Latin, Israeli and Hawaiian cuisines.
The lounge’s bar will feature specialty cocktails from Centurion Lounge mixologist Jim Meehan, like the Haku Hanami, inspired by the cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C. The wine selection from Centurion Lounge wine director Anthony Giglio will include wines from Virginia vineyards.

In addition to art pieces by Washington artists Claudia “Aziza” Gibson-Hunter, Maggie O’Neill, and Lori Katz, the lounge’s dining area will feature an abstract work by Emon Surakitkoson.
“Inspired by the Potomac River, the central dining area features a stunning ceiling sculpture made up of 260 lanterns to reflect the original boundary markers used to outline the city when it was founded in 1791,” American Express said.
The Washington Reagan lounge is located in Terminal 2, past the south security checkpoint.
“The Centurion Lounge is one of our card members’ favorite travel benefits, and the new location at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport offers card members the premium amenities they love in an airport they frequently travel through,” American Express Travel president Audrey Hendley said.
