American Legion Post 123 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 123 reported that Department of Florida Cmdr. Michael “Gambler” Raymond and District 13 Cmdr. Eric Long came to Sanibel to visit the Post officers and see the recovery of the building post-Hurricane Ian. They requested the Post’s famous burgers for dinner and stayed for the elections meeting. Present were Officers Randy Carson, Bob Booth, John Hird and Craig Helman and Auxiliary Officers Heather Silbar and Colleen Seeger.
The Post is open on Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. It serves burgers, hotdogs and other specials. There are TVs available for sports. The Post is open to the public. Membership applications are available. Post 123 is at 4929 Sanibel-Captiva Road, Sanibel.
