MARQUETTE — One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, according to the History Channel show, American Pickers. On a mission to find and purchase national treasures and rare items, the “pickers” are coming to Michigan.
American Pickers is a popular reality television series that features stars Mike Wolfe, Danielle Colby and others as they go on adventures across the country scouring junkyards, basements, garages and barns for forgotten relics.
Diving into countless piles of grimy “junk,” the pickers make their living by acquiring and restoring historically significant or rare items to their former glory.
The team is always excited to find these objects in addition to interesting characters and their collections. They hope to give these objects a new lease on life while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way.
As they look for leads in the state of Michigan, the pickers are looking for someone that “has a unique item, a story to tell and is ready to sell.”
Note that the pickers do not pick through stores, flea markets, malls, auction businesses, museums or anything open to the public. They strictly pick through private collections.
If interested, send your name, phone number, location and description of the collection, including photos, to americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 646-493-2184.
