A battle over the estate of American Pickers star Frank Fritz is heating up, with a close friend of the late star challenging his will just four months after his passing.
Frank, who died on September 30, 2024, at age 60 following a stroke in 2022, has had his will contested by an attorney representing a friend who is demanding a trial to determine the fate of his estate.
The challenge comes just four months after Frank’s death, raising the question of who will inherit the $6 million fortune he left behind.
Frank’s lawyer had filed a “will prior to death” in October 2023, to “safe-keep” the document, and a certificate was issued for approval just weeks after Frank passed. However, the legal drama took a new turn in December when the friend’s attorney officially entered the case.
On February 3, 2025, a petition was filed to “set aside will and jury demand,” seeking to invalidate the will entirely. The sealed case means the public is left in the dark about the details, with no access to court documents.
Jerry Gendreau, a longtime friend of Frank’s, has already begun planning an auction of Frank’s antiques, predicting a huge turnout from his loyal fan base. “That’s what I would do because of his fan base, I think he’ll do really, really well with an auction,” Jerry previously told The U.S. Sun.
Frank’s Savanna, Illinois store, Frank Fritz Finds, could also see some of the collection displayed, possibly including motorcycles from Frank’s prized collection.
“We may display motorcycles and choppers that represent Frank,” Jerry had said, adding that the store might even be transformed to showcase some of these treasures. “Right now it’s set up as an 1880s general store. Maybe they’ll be bikes on a rack all the way down the center.”
The disappearance of Gabby Petito in 2021 became a widely followed case, drawing national attention due to her social media presence. D
