The hustle of playing professional tennis never slows down, but when you add simple motherhood to the mix, it’s a whole new ball game. Take, for example, Taylor Townsend! The American tennis ace has been trying to serve excellence both on the court and at home, proving she can handle it all as a single mother. But this time, it’s not her powerful strokes or sharp strategy making headlines over the tennis fraternity, it’s her little troublemaker stealing the spotlight! Her son’s mischievous antics at home are giving her a whole new kind of challenge. What’s the little champ up for now, though?
Townsend’s 2025 season has been full of ups and downs so far. While she kicked off the year on a high by clinching the women’s doubles title at the Happy Slam, her later campaign has been a different story till now. She recently suffered back-to-back early exits, falling in the Round of 16 at the “Singapore Tennis Open” (doubles), failing to make it past the qualifiers in the recently concluded Abu Dhabi Open, and most recently, bowing out of the Qatar Open, the first WTA 1000 tour qualifiers after a tough battle against Elena-Gabriela Ruse 3-6, 7-6 (4), 2-6.
But despite her struggles on the WTA tour, one thing remains constant: her love for her son, Adyn Aubrey. No matter the results on the court, the former two-time Grand Slam winner never misses a chance to talk about him.

Recently, Taylor Townsend took to Instagram with a series of “Parent Rant” videos, sharing seven reels in her stories. Kicking things off, she opened up about the struggles of parenting from a distance. But the actual story? Two hilarious instances about her son: One involved his antics at swimming class, while the other saw him going all out on a shopping spree, grabbing a bunch of toys for himself.
“Now, after abusing my Doberman, now we goes to one class. Now he doesn’t do swim class, and finally, he’s learning, how to swim, learning. He doesn’t know how to swim, yet, why does my child just jump into the dam water? Just jump, I’m in the water. Let me just jump, so then his caretaker have to just pull him out and then the class is 30 minutes and we have wasted 15 minutes because he’s not listening or anything like that. They just told me during the whole class he’s not listening, he’s not paying attention,” she added.
She also continued, “he took his grandma’s phone and order $500 worth of dinosaur art from target.com. And, this isn’t even the kicker, he literally order nine different dinosaurs from starting from eggs to all kind of staffs and when I asked why you took the phone and order those, he said, I just order my staffs,”.
While the American’s playful rants about her son Aubrey continue to entertain her fans, this isn’t the first time she has shared her unfiltered take on parenting. In fact, she never left him alone, even when she was winning a title.

Parenting stories in professional tennis are nothing new to its audience. Just look at Serena Williams, who often shares her love for motherhood on social media with her two daughters. But for fellow American tennis ace and single mom Townsend, the narrative takes a different turn altogether.
Take, for instance, Townsend’s heartfelt glimpse into a full day with her son, Aubrey. Back in December last year, she shared a series of video clips capturing their daily routine on her social media. It all began with a trip to her practice session, where little Aubrey happily tagged along. Later, the mom was seen narrating a bedtime story to the 4-year-old while he enjoyed a bubble bath. And before calling it a night? A playful pillow fight comes along because no day is complete without some laughter, isn’t it? “We an hour and a half behind but hey.. we made it to bedtime,” she added.
Even with the demands of being a professional on tour, the American never let distance come between her and her son. For instance, when the little cham is 3, the mom can’t leave her son alone despite winning the title in Macon as she added, “Sick baby means mom stays home”.
