The tennis grind never stops, but when you’re balancing it with motherhood? That’s a whole different challenge. Just ask Taylor Townsend. The American star has been acing the art of juggling her career and her role as a mom, proving time and again that she can do it all. But this time, it’s not her powerful groundstrokes or strategic gameplay making headlines—it’s her hilarious attempt to impress her son. And no, it’s got nothing to do with tennis.
The American tennis sensation is currently away from her home for the Asia-Pacific Swing. Her latest match came at the qualifiers of the ongoing Qatar Open where she suffered an unexpected exit against Romania’s Elena-Gabriela Ruse in a three-setter match. But despite her grueling schedule, Townsend does not fail to express her love for her son Adyn as she attempts to make him proud with a hilarious gesture.
Taking to her Instagram story, Townsend shared a video of her Yonex Kit Big, which surprisingly had a blue dinosaur toy inside it. Captioning the video, she wrote, “Adyn would be proud 🤣” as she reminded followers that she is a mother to a 3-year-old child. Interestingly, this came soon after Townsend shared an emotional post for her son confessing how much she misses him while being away.

In an Instagram post, Townsend shared a picture of her son and wrote, “Missing my best friend heavy 😩❤️.” She further shared a video of herself as she can be seen playing with her son and her dog, and captioned it, “I miss all my kids ✨🤣❤️” This, however, is not the first time when Townsend’s love for her son has come to light.
Townsend took to her social media in December last year and shared a video of her son accompanying her for tennis practice earlier in the day. But soon after Townsend’s practice was over, she took her son Adyn for his Ju-jitsu sessions, a Japanese martial arts training.

Captioning the post, Townsend wrote, “After my practice, we go jujitsu 🥳 ✨,” signifying how she is managing to take out time for her son despite her demanding schedule. The bond between the mother and the son is however not just limited to fun. Interestingly, a promise to her son also motivated Taylor Townsend to win a massive career accolade.
Taylor Townsend achieved a remarkable feat in 2024 when she lifted the Wimbledon doubles trophy, her first-ever Grand Slam title. However, winning the title itself was more important for Townsend since she made an emotional promise to her son before she geared up for the tournament.

Ahead of her All-England Club campaign last year, Townsend took to her Instagram story to share a heartfelt moment. In the clip, she held her son, Adyn, close, asking for hugs before she left for the tournament. “Give me some hugs… I love you so much. I’ll see you in a couple of weeks when I get back, okay? And I’m going to do some winning,” she said. Abiding by her promise, Townsend returned home with the title, and she could not be more proud.
“This means the world to me to be able to show him what Mama did,” Townsend wrote on social media highlighting how significant the win was. Now, as the season evolves, it will be interesting to see if the American star will continue to be motivated by her son and amass some more accolades going forward.
