Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams is gearing up to go to space for the third time as she is set to travel in a Boeing Starliner spacecraft.
The spacecraft will launch its first human-crewed mission tomorrow (May 6) at 10:34 pm EDT. According to NASA, the United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket and Boeing Starliner spacecraft will be launched from Florida’s Space Launch Complex-41, located at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Another popular veteran astronaut Butch Wilmore will be travelling to space along with Sunita Williams. They will fly to the space station to test the Starliner spacecraft for regular crew rotations to the orbiting laboratory.
If it passes this crucial test, this spacecraft would become a second option, after SpaceX’s Crew Dragon, for NASA for transporting astronauts into the International Space Station (ISS).
The Starliner spacecraft is capable of carrying up to seven astronauts and the crew capsule is capable of up to ten missions.
