Shifting our focus to another American, Alex Michelsen’s best performance this year came at the Los Cabos Open where he reached the QF. In his previous match, he defeated Kovacevic by 3-6,6-3,6-4. Michelsen hit a total of five aces and committed three double faults in the entire match. His first-serve win percentage was 73%, however, it crept to 85% on the second-serve. He successfully converted two out of his two breakpoints in that match and won thirteen of his service games against Aleksandar Kovacevic.
Alex Michelsen has hit 91 aces and committed 61 double faults so far this season. He has in fact won 75% of his service games and 24% of his return games so far this season. Can he come up with a strong challenge against Taylor Fritz in his next match?
Alex Michelsen hasn’t yet faced America’s number one in his career. This will be their first meeting and both of them would love to end this match on a winning note. Taylor Fritz currently has a win-loss record of 22-10, while Alex Michelsen has recorded 10-13 this year so far. Fritz reached the SF of this tournament in 2023.
