It’s about time American Airlines is jumping in the free Wi-Fi game.
The airline will test free Wi-Fi on three routes this week, a necessary development for the company.
Delta has been offering free W-Fi for years now. I wrote about the Wi-Fi in the skies debate back in February of 2023 and my stance remains the same.
Free Wi-Fi on airplanes should be an industry standard. Travelers are already feeling the hits to their wallets when it comes to the overall ticket price.
Airlines don’t need to charge their passengers to stay connected, to be able to communicate with their loved ones.
This shift is a necessary move for the airline.
American Airlines also announced it will begin boarding earlier in an effort to improve the passenger experience.
After a rough 2024 with the NDC debacle, American Airlines need an image boost. Improving the passenger experience with these two moves will significantly help the airline in this regard.
