AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn’s Johni Broome (Plant City, Fla.) is a consensus All-American after the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) selected him to its respective third teams on Wednesday.
He becomes just the second Auburn men’s basketball player in school history to be named an All-American in the same season by The Associated Press, NABC, USBWA and The Sporting News next to Jabari Smith in 2021-22.
The SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player, SEC All-Tournament Team, NABC All-District First Team, All-SEC First Team and SEC All-Defensive Team member is currently on a 25-game double-digit scoring streak (Dec. 17, 2023 to present), which is tied for the 23rd-longest in the nation.
He is also a candidate for the Naismith and John R. Wooden National Player of the Year Awards and a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award.
