What a show the American WTA stars have put on at the Australian Open! The tournament wasn’t just about electrifying rallies and nail-biting clashes—it became the stage for the rise of American powerhouses. Coco Gauff, Emma Navarro, and Madison Keys led the charge, taking down top opponents and lighting up the courts with their incredible performances. And now, as their sensational achievements continue to make waves, Gauff herself is taking a moment to shout out her girl gang.

The American tennis stars clinched remarkable spots on the WTA rankings. Leading the fray is none other than Coco Gauff who has continued to cement her status as the World No. 3. Joining her are Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro who clinched the 6th and 8th spot. And adding fuel to the glory is the standout face of Madison Keys who has made a remarkable jump from the 14th to the 7th Spot. Now, Gauff is radiating with pride but most notably, she has seemingly made notable advice to Roger Federer!

Taking to her Instagram account, Gauff shared a post by Tennis Channel that details the rise of the American WTA Stars. Captioning it, she wrote, “USA vs World laver cup????” Encouraging her team further, she wrote, “🦅rah.” Gauff’s comment can be seen as direct advice to Roger Federer, the founder of the Laver Cup, to incorporate a provision for female players as well. Remember, the tournament is currently played by the ATP Stars only. 

Besides, it appears like Gauff wishes to have two teams, Team USA and Team World competing in the tournament, as against the current format that features Team Europe and Team World. While it will be interesting to see if the Swiss Maestro responds to her suggestion, the rise of the WTA Stars is fairly evident. And it is not just Gauff who is beaming with pride for her team.

Earlier, Gauff’s ex-coach Brad Gilbert took to his X and acknowledged the growth of female players. “Live WTA Ranking wonder 💭 when last time 4 American 🇺🇸 women in top 10 and 5 in top 12,” he wrote. And the happiness prevailing is quite understandable given the strides that these players are making. In July last year, these 4 players, along with Danielle Collins advanced to clinch spots within the Top 15, twenty years after Lindsay Davenport, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Jennifer Capriati, and Chanda Rubin achieved the feat.

Coming back to Coco Gauff, it was not just her stellar run to the quarterfinals that caught the attention at the Australian Open. The 20-year-old caught headlines for her never-say-die attitude. So what was it about?

Coco Gauff was on a remarkable run in Australia having led her team to victory at the United Cup. She was on an equally stunning performance at the Australian Open where she reached the quarterfinals, dropping just one set. However, she faced an unexpected exit in the quarterfinals against Paula Badosa. But true to her nature, Gauff made a resilient remark highlighting how prepared she is for the season. 

Speaking after her Australian Open campaign came to an end, Gauff said, “I feel like (at the) U.S. Open, I was playing with no solution, so that was more the frustrating part. Today, I feel like I’m playing with solutions; I know what I need to work on. U.S. Open, I needed to work on my serve. Not saying that my serve is where I want it to be, but I worked on it; obviously a big improvement. So I want to continue working on that, continue working on playing aggressive.” She also shared that she feels motivated and appears to be on the right track. 

“So I feel like I’m on the road to the right way, the right path. Even though I lost today, I feel like I’m in an upward trajectory,” Gauff added. Now, as the season evolves, it would be interesting to see if the American star, along with her compatriots can continue to depict remarkable tennis in Australia.
