Don Showalter, one of the most decorated American basketball coaches, will work with Dynamites Basketball Club, Dromiskin, this coming August.
Coach Showalter led the US men’s U17 team to a 7-0 record and gold medal at the 2018 FIBA World Cup.
He was named 2018 US developmental coach of the year and led the 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017 US men’s U16 national teams to gold medals, as well as gold medals at the 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 FIBA U17 World Cups.
“We are honoured to have coach Showalter coming to Dundalk and especially to our club,” said Brendan McCoy head coach of Dynamites Basketball Club.
“We’ve had the privilege of having some grate coaches visit us in the past, like New York Knicks coach Greg Brittenham, who consistently stays in contact with us, and hall of famers Lenny McMillan and Kelvin Troy.”
