PTC Web Desk: In a delightful fusion of cricket and American football, Indian cricket sensation Jasprit Bumrah and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons took a crack at each other’s sports in New York. The unique exchange saw Jasprit Bumrah trying his hand at American football while Micah Parsons experienced the thrills of cricket.
The National Football League (NFL) shared this exciting encounter on Instagram, posting snapshots of Micah Parsons batting and bowling under Jasprit Bumrah’s guidance. Meanwhile, Bumrah was seen throwing around the pigskin with Parsons, each athlete embracing the challenge and excitement of a new sport.
“Going for 6! Football Cricket @_micahparsons11 and cricket superstar @jaspritb1 met up to play each other’s sports,” read the enthusiastic caption on the NFL’s post.
This engaging event was part of a broader initiative to foster international sporting collaborations. Earlier, BCCI secretary Jay Shah visited the NFL headquarters in New York, where he met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Their discussions centered on sharing best practices, exchanging innovative ideas, and enhancing fan engagement across both sports.
To mark this historic visit, Jay Shah presented Commissioner Goodell with a customised helmet featuring the BCCI logo and a Team India jersey. In return, Shah received a trademark NFL ball, symbolising the deepening relationship between cricket and American football.
This milestone interaction between the BCCI and the NFL paves the way for creative collaborations and cross-cultural sporting dialogues between India and the United States.
