Let me start by saying that I get that it is waaaaayyyy too early to talk with any seriousness about record predictions for this season. My No Bull sensibilities say talk to me when we’re almost done with training camp and have seen a couple of preseason games.
That being said, it is the offseason which makes it a prime time to talk about these sorts of things. So hit up the comments here and let us know what you think about the hopes for the season from your perspective.
My take so far is that unless Bo Nix is absolute fire in his rookie season, it isn’t likely at all. I think we can expect 7 wins or so and that will be good enough to set us up for 2025.
I don’t think the team did enough to improve the run game in order to get a serious offense rolling that will help Nix have favorable throwing situations. I also have some serious doubts about where the pass rush is coming from on the defense. Until those big-ticket items get solved, we’re leaning heavily on quarterback performance to elevate the team to wins.
