The National Football League (NFL) is expanding its international activities and will host a regular-season game in Ireland for the first time this year.
As the professional league announced two days before the Super Bowl in New Orleans between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, Croke Park in Dublin will be the venue for the premiere. The home team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The exact date and opponent will be announced in the spring.
“We are delighted to officially bring a regular season NFL game to Ireland as part of our International Games 2025,” said NFL Vice President Peter O’Reilly. “We are excited to be part of this historic event and to represent Pittsburgh in a game that will bring the NFL to the great sports fans in Ireland,” said Steelers President Art Rooney II.
In addition to Dublin, Berlin with the host Indianapolis Colts and Madrid with the Miami Dolphins will be NFL regular season venues for the first time next season. There will also be three games in London with the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Previously, NFL games have also been held in Mexico and Brazil, with the Australian metropolis of Melbourne being added from 2026.
