Girls’ flag high school football continues to skyrocket.
A week ago, with help from the National Football League, the Big 33 Football Classic, America’s premiere high school football all-star game, added girls’ flag. Four all-star high school football teams, representing the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders, battled in a two-day, round-robin tournament for the Big 33’s first-ever girls’ flag championship.
Former Eagles’ All-Pro cornerback Bobby Taylor had a big hand in the NFL’s partnership with the Big 33.
Below, you can watch Taylor, a Strategic Advisor at NFL Football Operations, talk about the game, the growth of the sport and his own high school football career. The 10-year NFL veteran was inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame for his outstanding scholastic career at Longview High School.
Last month, with help from the Denver Broncos, Colorado became the 11th state in the nation to sanction the fast-growing sport.
