When Kendrick Lamar takes to the stage for the Super Bowl 2025 half-time show between the Kansas Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday, nearly 63 million viewers across the world will be glued to their screens, taking in what is arguably the greatest sporting spectacle to take place every February.
In Northern Ireland and the Republic, there are around 350,000 American football fans, according to the National Football League (NFL). And while it has yet to compete with soccer and GAA, the sport does have an established league here with homegrown teams. While billions of chicken wings and pizzas are expected to be wolfed down across the United States during the game, an NFL supporters club is hosting a Super Bowl watch party in Belfast where fans will be cheering on either the Chiefs or the Eagles.
