The threat of severe weather has caused the grounding of flights in the southern US as it deals with hurricane season.

If your flight is canceled due to Tropical Storm Helene you are entitled to a full refund if you choose not to fly. Check your airline’s website or mobile app for the most up-to-date information on your flight status and if you’re having trouble getting a refund, you can report issues to the Department of Transportation at FlightRights.gov.

American Airlines

American Airlines has issued a travel alert for 16 Florida airports, including Jacksonville International Airport. If you purchased your ticket before September 23:

You can change your flight for free, regardless of booking class
Changes must be booked by September 27
New travel must be completed within one year of the original ticket date

Delta Airlines

Delta’s travel advisory covers nine Florida airports, including Jacksonville:

Flights originally scheduled between September 25-27 are impacted
If you rebook before September 30, no change fees or fare differences will apply
Flights rebooked after September 30 may be subject to change fees and fare differences

United Airlines

United’s travel alert includes flights to and from Jacksonville International Airport:

Applies to original travel dates between September 24-27
You can reschedule your trip without change fees or fare differences
