The aisle of an American Airlines flying from Dallas to Minneapolis flooded as confused passengers observed the water’s path creeping up towards the airline’s front. According to Storyful, Hilary Stewart Blazevic, a traveler on the aircraft, reported that a woman had reported the leak to a flight attendant after using the restroom. However, the member of the cabin staff was unable to stop the leakage. Videos of the leakage also went viral on social media. The video initially gained popularity on TikTok, where it currently has over 61,000 likes and 7.2 million views.
“It was utter disbelief and a little panic realizing they can’t shut off the water,” Blazevic said.
Several social media users reacted to the viral videos.
One user on X said, “Imagine drowning…on a plane…in the air.”
Another person commented, “Another reason to wear closed toe shoes and not flip flops and crocs.”
“Drowning at 30,000 feet going 500mph lol new death fear unlocked lol,” reacted a third person.
“New final destination fear unlocked, ” added a fourth person .
Other Terrifying In-Flight Incidents
However, the scariest thing that flyers have had to deal with in recent months is not a little water, which could or might not be sewage.
In August, while on Air Algerie flight AH 1460 from Algeria to Lyon, France, jetsetters aboard a Boeing 737 were in a panic when oxygen masks suddenly deployed in their faces.
Additionally, when extreme turbulence violently rocked an Avianca Airlines aircraft to Colombia in September, passengers were left screaming, clutching their chairs, and praying to themselves.
