Danielle Colby of American Pickers has built a notable career off the television series, building up an impressive net worth.

Series creator Mike Wolfe, who is close with Colby, deliberately chose her to challenge antiquing stereotypes.

“I wanted someone that did not look like they would work in any antique shop,” Wolfe, who recently dropped some“epic” career news, said.

“I wanted people to look at antiques like they’re fun, they’re rad, they’re killer, they’re awesome. I wanted people to know that they didn’t have to have a blue blazer and 10 cats to be an antique dealer.”

Wolfe cited Colby’s edge and distinctive look as key factors in his decision to bring her aboard.

Colby recently announced a pause in her performance schedule due to health worries.

“Had some very serious health issues happening within my family,” she said in a December 9 Instagram video.

“I’m okay, I’m fine, but my family needs me right now.”

She will continue filming American Pickers but has suspended burlesque appearances indefinitely.

“Maybe at some point, things will balance out, hopefully, and I’ll be able to get on the road again for burlesque, but until then, I’m gonna miss you guys,” Colby said.
