Knauf Insulation has partnered with the Indianapolis Colts to collect glass during the 2024 National Football League season in the US.
As part of the partnership, Knauf will collect glass at the End Zone Tailgate parking lot in Indianapolis, USA.
The collected glass will be recycled and repurposed in the production of Knauf’s fiberglass insulation.
Tailgating is a popular tradition for American football fans, who often get together in the parking lots of stadiums to build excitement for their team’s game.
Matthew Parrish, Knauf CEO, said: “Our employees live, work and, raise their families in the Indianapolis area, and this partnership demonstrates our support to the community.
“We are excited to partner with the Colts to share Knauf’s story—highlighting our strong company culture, commitment to sustainability and high-quality products.”
Knauf is invested in improving glass recycling rates, with the company using 800 million pounds of recycled glass in its manufacturing process annually.
Not only is this glass diverted from landfills, using recycled glass reduces the amount of energy needed for manufacturing and decreases how much raw materials need to be mined.
