Nelly Korda’s late Sunday rally to win the LPGA Drive On Championship may have kept Lydia Ko out of the LPGA Hall of Fame (for now), but it created a bit of history in another way.

With her ninth career LPGA victory, Korda ascended to No. 2 in the Rolex Rankings. And although that’s not a first for the former World No. 1, it set up a rare one-two punch of American golfers.

With reigning LPGA Player of the Year Lilia Vu still holding down the top spot, it marks just the fourth week ever that a pair of Americans have held the top two spots. That being said, this is already a familiar combo since those other three weeks also involved Vu and Korda and came last summer.

As you can see, however, Vu and Korda are the only Americans in the top 10. Megan Khang is next at No. 12.

The Rolex Rankings were introduced in February of 2006. Korda, Vu, Stacy Lewis and Cristie Kerr are the four Americans to ever be rankied World No. 1 during that time with Korda spending the most weeks of any American (37) in the top spot.
