AUSTIN, Texas — Southwest Minnesota State University outfielder Isaac Nett was named to the College Sports Communicators Division II Academic All-America second team on Tuesday, marking the second consecutive year Nett earned a selection.
Nett was a first-team selection last season, making him the first selection from the SMSU baseball team since Jayden Fleck earned second-team honors in 2018. Nett is also SMSU baseball’s second two-time honoree after Brendan Rokke was the program’s first-ever honoree with a second-team selection in 2003 and a first-team selection in 2004.
Jon Dicke of the SMSU football team is the only other Mustang to be selected twice after earning first-team nods in 2017 and 2018.
Nett, who graduated from Albany High School in 2019 and spent the first two years of his college career at Minnesota State before transferring, graduated from SMSU with a cumulative GPA of 3.96 in May. He earned his degree in ag business and finance.
