By beating the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving, the Detroit Lions have won 10 games in a row in a single season for the first time in franchise history, with their 11-1 start also the best in team history. However, in failing to score a rushing touchdown, they snapped their NFL-record streak of 25 successive games.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ victory over the Las Vegas Raiders gave them an NFL-record 14 successive wins in games finishing with a one-score margin, including the playoffs. The Raiders missed three field goals as Patrick Mahomes tied the record for the fewest starts to reach 100 wins as a quarterback:

Mahomes also became the most prolific touchdown passer in Chiefs history in the process.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals combined for 82 points, the most in a game between the two teams, as the Steelers guaranteed an NFL-record 21st successive non-losing season.

The Indianapolis Colts defeated the New England Patriots via a last-minute, 19-play touchdown drive and two-point conversion. It was the longest game-winning drive since Ty Detmer led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 10-9 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week Two of the 1997 season.

Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Leonard Williams returned an Aaron Rodgers Interception 92 yards against the New York Jets for what was the longest pick-six by a player weighing more than 300 pounds in NFL history. There has only been one longer scoring play by a player that heavy.

The Los Angeles Rams trailed the New Orleans Saints 6-0 at half-time to mark the end of their NFL-record streak of 129 games in which they had not been held scoreless in the first half. However, they recovered to win 21-14 to give Sean McVay his 76th regular-season win, breaking John Robinson’s regular season franchise record as head coach.

Justin Tucker’s struggles continued as the Baltimore Ravens fell to the Eagles. He missed two field goals and an extra point, marking the first time in his career that he has missed three kicks in the same game.

Having started this season as the kicker with the highest field goal success rate in NFL history, his record this season is just 70.4 per cent, the lowest of any kicker with at least 20 attempts.

On Sunday night, the Buffalo Bills defeated the San Francisco 49ers to win their fifth successive AFC East title. They became the first team since the 2009 Colts to clinch a division title with as many as five weeks of the regular season to play.

Josh Allen became the first quarterback since 1944 to have a rushing, receiving and passing touchdown in the same game. Roy Zimmerman of the Eagles performed the feat against the New York Giants at the Polo Grounds, also kicking a field goal and three extra points. Allen is now 5-0 in games played in temperatures below freezing.

The Monday Night Football game between the Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns provided the only instance in the last 30 years of successive offensive scoring plays of at least 70 yards. Marvin Mims Jr caught a 93-yard reception from Bo Nix before Jerry Jeudy hauled in a 70-yarder from Jameis Winston.

Winston’s 497 passing yards set a new Browns franchise record, breaking Josh McCown’s previous mark of 457 set against the Ravens in 2015.
