The playoffs have arrived for both college football and the NFL, but many teams already have their eyes on next season.
With the College Football Playoff soon coming to a close and a majority of the 32 NFL teams missing the playoffs, much of the football world is already turning its focus to the 2025 NFL Draft, where some of the sport’s brightest young stars will hear their names called.
However, college football’s top players with remaining eligibility will first have to declare whether or not they’ll be entering their name into the draft. And there are new NFL rules regarding their deadlines to do so. Players on teams whose season has already ended had an early soft deadline of Jan. 6 to declare for the draft, with the traditional hard deadline coming on Jan. 15.

With the CFP title game falling on Jan. 20, though, players whose teams reach the championship get some extra time to decide on their futures. Championship game participants have until Jan. 24 to declare their draft eligibility, allowing NFL teams to have a list of names by Jan. 25.
There have already been some well-known names added to that list. Here’s a look at which college football players have announced their intentions to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.

Here’s a list of some of the notable prospects who have already declared for April’s NFL Draft:
Will Campbell is considered one of the top offensive line prospects in the 2025 draft class. With a 6-6, 320-pound frame, Campbell was named a consensus first team All-American this season and will likely hear his name called early in the first round.
Mason Graham is one of two Michigan defenders expected to be selected early, joining Will Johnson. Both Graham and Johnson notched two All-American honors with the Wolverines, also winning the 2023 National Championship together.
Jalen Milroe likely won’t be the first quarterback off the board, but after 2,844 passing yards, 726 rushing yards and 36 total touchdowns in 2024, he’ll bring an intriguing dual-threat ability to an NFL team.
Malaki Starks projects as the 2025 draft’s top safety. He racked up 198 total tackles and six interceptions over his three seasons at Georgia.
Another high-ranking Georgia defender will be pass rusher Mykel Williams. In all three of his seasons with the Bulldogs, Williams totaled at least 16 total tackles and 4.5 sacks, earning second-team All-SEC honors twice.
Travis Hunter, the Heisman Trophy winner, offers one of the most unique skill sets ever seen in the draft. It remains to be seen how an NFL team will utilize him, but as a two-way player in 2024, he totaled 35 total tackles, 11 passes defended and four interceptions defensively, plus 1,258 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns as a receiver.
Another dynamic offensive talent, and the Heisman runner-up, is Ashton Jeanty. Though he came up just short of the NCAA single-season rushing record, Jeanty couldn’t be stopped on the ground in 2024, finishing with 2,601 rushing yards and 30 total touchdowns.
Tetairoa McMillan, coming out of Arizona, should bring strong hands, a large frame and impressive route running to an NFL team, projected as an early first-round pick. McMillan was a consensus All-American in 2024 and finished the season with 1,319 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
