Cameron Sutton‘s offseason transgressions have cost him half of a season of football.

The NFL suspended the Steelers cornerback for eight games without pay for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, the league announced Monday.

Sutton’s suspension comes after an arrest warrant was issued for him regarding an alleged domestic violence incident in March, for which Sutton eventually turned himself in and reportedly entered a pretrial diversion program on misdemeanor battery charges. The NFL investigated the March incident involving Sutton and determined he violated the personal conduct policy, leading to his suspension.

After one season spent in Detroit, Sutton was released by the Lions following the issuance of the warrant. He signed with the Steelers roughly two months later, returning to the team that selected him with the 94th pick in the 2017 draft.

Sutton will be eligible for reinstatement on Oct. 29 following Pittsburgh’s Week 8 game against the New York Giants.
