Oceania Cruises partners with American Cancer Society to launch Relay For Life at Sea, uniting guests and crew to raise funds for cancer research and patient support.
Oceania Cruises®, renowned for its culinary excellence and immersive destinations, is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS). This collaboration introduces the ACS Relay For Life at Sea program to Oceania’s esteemed guests, crew, and team members. The initiative aims to foster a supportive community while raising essential funds for cancer research, patient support, and advocacy.
This program was recently launched on Oceania Cruises’ latest ship, Vista, and on Insignia, currently completing her 180-day Around The World Cruise. The initiative, which includes a friendly competition, will be rolled out across the fleet in the coming months. Oceania Cruises aims to raise $150,000 for ACS by the end of the year.
“We are incredibly excited to launch our collaboration with the American Cancer Society and introduce the Relay For Life at Sea program to our valued guests and crew,” stated Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. “This initiative reflects Oceania Cruises’ commitment not only to delivering exceptional travel experiences but also to making a positive impact in the communities we touch, consistently aiming to foster a spirit of unity. We look forward to seeing not only our guests, but our officers and team members, come together to celebrate survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and contribute to the fight against cancer.”
Inspired by the original Relay For Life event from 1985, guests aboard Oceania Cruises will engage in a friendly competition on the ship’s fitness track, aiming to complete as many laps as possible. Both current and future guests are invited to register for Relay For Life at Sea by visiting www.cancer.org/relayforlifeatsea or scanning the QR code available in Oceania’s onboard newsletter, Currents. A minimum donation of $25 is required to participate.
At the end of the voyage, Oceania Cruises will host a celebratory gathering where participants can share their accomplishments and receive special recognitions and prizes in various age categories. Through this new program, Oceania Cruises aims to journey toward a future filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities.
