A decade after reaching her maiden grand slam semi final at Melbourne Park, American veteran Madison Keys has done it again.
The 29-year-old is into the final four of the Australian Open following a three-sets win over Elina Svitolina on Wednesday.
Keys won the quarter final 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to book a date with either Emma Navarro or Iga Swiatek.

Keys reached her first major semi at the 2015 Australian Open – then a 19-year-old prodigy with dreams of becoming the next Serena Williams.
“I think I play a little bit smarter, for sure,” Keys said post-match when asked what’s changed from 2015 to now.
“Probably a little bit less fearless… but to be here 10 years later in the semi finals again, I’m really proud of myself.”
Keys also reached the Australian Open semis in 2022.
The only grand slam final on her record is the 2017 US Open, in which she was beaten by fellow American Sloane Stephens.
She is now one win away from reach a trophy decider in Melbourne for the first time.

Intriguingly, Keys recently dumped Wilson as her racquet brand after 17 years, and has been using a Yonex frame during this tournament.
After her fourth-round match she explained she needed something a little more forgiving as she got older.
“I was just looking for a little bit of, I guess, safer, easier power,” Keys said.
“I mean, I love my racquet for a really long time obviously because I stuck with it for so long, but I felt like it was just getting a little bit difficult to play with on bad days, where it just wasn’t really helping me enough.
“I have no idea why I like this racquet, what it does, like, all the specifics of it. I just knew when I picked it up, it felt really good, and that was the winner.”
Keys’ new husband and longtime partner Bjorn Fratangelo also began coaching her last year.
The couple married in November before flying Down Under.
