She played the final professional match of her career at the 2022 US Open, losing to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round, 5-7, 7-6(4), 1-6.

In 2017, Williams married seasoned tech entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian. Their elder daughter, Olympia, arrived two months before their wedding, in September, while their second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, was born last year in August.
