Pena signs with Queens
Hancock College sophomore Jaden Pena has signed with NCAA Division 2 member Queens College. Queens College is located in the New York City borough of Queens and is part of the City University of New York (CUNY) network.
“I chose Queens college because of the connection I felt with coach (Matt) Collier,” Pena said in a Hancock news release.
“We have similar goals that we both want to accomplish, and it felt like Queens was the best fit for me to continue being a student-athlete and pursuing my dreams.”
Pena spent one season with Hancock after transferring from Porterville. The New York City native averaged 4.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. He appeared in 31 games for the Bulldogs.
Pena scored a season high 20 points in a 76-73 Hancock win over Moorpark. Pena shot 9-for-10 from the floor in that one.
“My time here at Hancock has prepared me for the next step in my life, both on the court and off,” said Pena. “My coaches and teammates pushed me to be a better basketball player, student and just an overall better person every day.”
