Tom Brady, winner of seven Super Bowls, says the secret behind his success was all about how he prepared for games and his intense film study – and would advise Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts to do the same.
That work ethic, combined with his high football IQ, was evident in his final Super Bowl – which was an emphatic success against this Chiefs team that could make history today.
“So my last Super Bowl I was a part of, it was just two weeks of watching film,” Brady told ESPN’s Colin Cowherd.
“Friday night I was going through the film – I knew Kansas City’s defence better than they knew it themselves.
“I knew their body movements, I knew everything they were doing. I got out there on the field and I looked up from the line of scrimmage and was like ‘OK they’re blitzing’ and I could deal with it right away.
“It was like I had the answers to the test.
“That’s where I was great, that’s what my magic super power was. It wasn’t how fast I could run it was how fast I could diagnose what they were doing.”
