A tennis player turned up to a match with his suitcase after dashing between two tournaments in less than 24 hours.

Ryan Seggerman lost his doubles final at the Szczecin Challenger on Saturday and was back on court in Saint-Tropez a day later.

The American ace took two planes, a train and a car to make it to the qualifying event on the French Riviera.

Seggerman is a regular on the Challenger circuit in doubles. The 25-year-old and his partner Szymon Walkow reached the final of the doubles event in Szczecin, Poland.

But they suffered a 6-2 6-1 defeat to No. 1 seeds Guido Andreozzi and Theo Arribage. And Seggerman knew he would have to scramble if he wanted to get to the Saint-Tropez Challenger, where he is entered in the singles qualifying event.

According to Damian Kust, the American planned to leave his hotel in Poland at 4.30am to fly to Marseille with a connection in Berlin. After landing in France, he needed to catch a train to a place where the tournament could pick him up.

The doubles world No. 87 had every intention of playing his first-round qualifying match in Saint-Tropez and was only going to pull out if his travel plans were derailed. But he made it, suitcase and all.

It was such a mad rush, that Seggerman took straight to the court with his luggage. The American isn’t as experienced in singles – he’s ranked at No. 400 in the world.
