The Green Bay Packers are unique in US Sports Betting, in that the fans own the team. The franchise is the third oldest in the NFL and it remains the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team based in the United States.
The fans take great pride to ensure they are seen to be the best run team in north America and it’s hard to argue that point.
The Packers find themselves top of many fan-based surveys and it’s no surprise their Lambeau Stadium ranks top of our survey on which stadium is rated the best on three of the most used platforms – Google, Tripadvisor and Facebook.
We take a look at which others join the Packers’ iconic stadium. Capacity was the tiebreaker used if a number of stadiums had the same rating.
While betting on the Packers to win the Super Bowl in 2024 may not have the most attractive odds on NFL Sportsbooks, Attending an NFL game at Lambeau Field is on many people’s wish list, but getting tickets for games are very difficult.
Green Bay is a one-team city and therefore demand to attend Packers game is very high. The waiting list for season tickets for the Packers currently stands about 60 years, as tickets get handed down from generation to generation with great prestige.
There is a certain charm associated with a trip to Lambeau Field, also known as the frozen tundra in wintertime, where a warm welcome awaits everyone, with the possible exception of Chicago Bears supporters.
Purists will be happy that the oldest continually operating NFL stadium has come out on top ahead of the numerous new stadium that have sprung up in recent years.
The home of the Pittsburgh Pirates is the first of the new stadiums built this century on our list. PNC Park is actually the fifth official home of the MLB team and has been since the 2001 season.
Considering how much is spent on new stadiums these days, the $216m seems like nothing, and while it took two years to build, it is still regarded as one of the best grounds to watch America’s favorite pastime.
For those who were wondering, the park is named after the financial services company who acquired naming rights for 20 years at a cost of $30m.
Those rights run through to 2031, with PNC given the option to extend their sponsorship, otherwise a new name could be given to the stadium sitting on the banks of the Allegheny River.
When the Baltimore Orioles moved into Oriole Park in time for the start of the 1992 season, it was hoped more successful times would follow.
However, that hasn’t exactly been the case with just six play-off appearances in the 31 seasons playing at the popular Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
It’s a credit to the organisation that their stadium, which is over 30 years old, ranks so high in our study. And the good news for Orioles fans is that a new deal was signed in December 2023 to stay at the stadium for another 30 years.
During the extended period, the Orioles will hope to add to the three World Series titles they have to their name, which were all won prior to moving to their current home.
When surveys like this are done, somebody has to finish bottom, and Nashville SC’s Geodis Park finds itself there. Opened in 2002 at a cost of $275m, Geodis Park was built for the MLS soccer team.
While its 4.5 rating on Google is acceptable, the 1.5 rating on Facebook leaves the 30,000 capacity stadium, also known as the Nashville Fairgrounds Stadium, bottom of the standings, down 1.35 from two years ago.
SoFi Stadium located in Los Angeles ranked the second worst ground in our study. The state-of-the-art stadium, which hosted Super Bowl XLI, cost $4.96bn to construct and remains the most expensive sports stadium ever built.
Home to both Los Angeles’ NFL teams – the Chargers and Rams, work needs to be done to improve their overall rating.
Another MLS ground completes the bottom three as FC Cincinnati’s TQL Stadium rated poorly in our research. Like the other two strugglers, it too is a new build, so maybe it’s just a matter of time before their rating improves. Their rating fell from 4.35 to 3.60.
Los Angeles Galaxy are one of the MLS’ 10 charter members and have attracted some of the biggest names to play for them, including David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovich and Steven Gerrard.
They demand the best for the team and their supporters and since this survey was done two years ago, the Galaxy’s Dignity Health Sports Park is the most improved in terms of customer ratings on Google, Tripadvisor and Facebook.
The 27,000-seater stadium, which opened in 2003, has seen its overall rating climb 0.4 from 3.97 to 4.37.
The Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is the second biggest improver by 0.3. The home of the Raiders in the NFL was opened in 2020 and hosted this year’s Super Bowl LVIII between the Chiefs and the 49ers.
Another NFL stadium, the Atlanta Falcons’ Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the third most improved stadium based on customer ratings, climbing from 3.95 to 4.23.
All stadiums were scored out of five on Google, Tripadvisor and Facebook and given an overall average score.
If two or more stadiums had the same score out of five, they were ranked in terms of capacity with the largest capacity first.
