A US national is to be charged with conspiracy to murder a Birmingham shop owner, crown prosecutors say.
They said on Thursday they had authorised West Midlands Police to charge Aimee Betro over her alleged role in a plot to slay the clothing store owner and his family members in September 2019.
She is to also be charged, in connection, with possession of a firearm with intent. A separate charge of being knowingly concerned in the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of goods, namely ammunition, was also being brought, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.
It added Ms Betro was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
