Vietnam’s Da Nang, Thailand’s Bangkok, and the Philippines’ Manila are among the top five most-searched Asian cities by American travelers in 2025, according to online travel platform Agoda.
Da Nang led the list with an impressive year-on-year search increase of 1,538%, while Bangkok secured third place despite a 10% decrease in searches. Manila ranked fourth, with a 21% decline in searches, based on Agoda’s accommodation search data from January 2025.
Da Nang, known for its ancient temples, sandy beaches, and vibrant international fireworks festival, has gained significant popularity among foreign tourists.
In 2024, Vietnam emerged as the most searched country by American travelers, experiencing a remarkable 174% year-on-year surge in searches, according to Agoda.
By early 2025, the U.S. had become the leading country for searches related to Vietnam tourism, as per Google’s Destination Insights. Additionally, the U.S. ranked among Vietnam’s top sources of foreign visitors last year and was the second-largest source of visitors to the Philippines.
American tourists do not require a visa to enter Thailand or the Philippines, making these destinations even more accessible for vacationers. The ease of travel, combined with the rich cultural experiences these destinations offer, continues to drive interest among American travelers seeking new adventures.
